About

An independent Chicago-based website sharing curated guides to Chicago for locals and tourists.

About City Guide to Chicago

Our goal is to share relevant and up to date information about Chicago restaurants, businesses, museums, and other attractions. We do our very best to share accurate information, if you have any corrections, they can be politely sent to cityguidetochicago@gmail.com. For our lovely readers, it’s always best to call businesses to confirm their hours before going there – things are ever changing these days.

Chicago Neighborhoods

We hope to continue to add new neighborhoods to our guides. Feel free to email cityguidetochicago@gmail.com to request a specific neighborhood.

When it comes to neighborhood borders, sometimes they aren’t strictly defined. Sometimes it seems silly to leave out something that is across the street from a defined border. For this reason, you might find some businesses and attractions listed in multiple guides.

Sometimes we group smaller neighborhoods in with a larger area. For example, Ukrainian Village, East Village, and Noble Square can be found under West Town. Greektown is listed under the West Loop.

Types of Links We Share

When it comes to restaurants, we only link to websites run by the restaurant and not third party menu sites or meal delivery services.

About the Founder/Editor

After 10 years of writing about Chicago, food, and travel on her personal site, The Kittchen, Kit Graham decided to create the website about Chicago that she wished existed.

In June 2008, Kit traveled to Chicago for the first time to visit friends. Over the course of the weekend, she fell in love with Chicago and decided to make the move from New York City to Chicago. Three months later, Kit drove a UHaul containing all her belongs to Chicago. Now, 14 years later, she lives in Wicker Park with her husband and daughter.
